I have it on excellent authority after being married to a towing specialist for 38 years as of July 31st, 2010 on the ins and outs of a towing marriage. The towing industry like any other time consuming organisation is not what makes or breaks a marriage. As I approach 40 years of marriage, I look at it like a "growing up" together of sorts. We both found out early on that it was never a 50/50 collaboration. Among us constantly gave up more than the other at times however we never ever took a look at evening ball game on who did what. When one was weak, the more powerful took over in all marriage and organisation decisions. We always approached everything as a group and still do. Our plans for the future are optimistic understanding we have each other. Both our parents were wed over 50 years with the dedication "until death do us part".
As I compose this article I will ask my spouse if he would like to add his viewpoint due to the fact that it has to do with us. "I feel extremely fortunate to have a partner that can flex and do for herself on her own which reduced my mental and psychological regret." By the same token, a hubby that enables his better half to be independent and a sole choice maker is a sincere trust that should never ever be ignored. We both have a self respect and regard for each other and the rest is "icing on the cake". There is no grey area as to who is the guy and who is the woman in our relationship.
Co-owning a tow service and having an active other half working along side the motorists daily along with managing business with customers keeps us both included 24/7. At the end of the day, neither one needs to ask how the day went due to the fact that we both know the great and the bad. In order to be a successful business in addition to an effective marital relationship, 110% commitment is the word and a sense of humor.
